Seamless connectivity for pilgrims abroad
Banglalink has introduced the country’s first 5G Hajj roaming packs, aiming to ensure seamless connectivity for Bangladeshi pilgrims travelling to Saudi Arabia.
Each year, thousands of pilgrims face the inconvenience of purchasing local SIM cards upon arrival, often encountering long queues and communication delays. Addressing this challenge, Banglalink’s new roaming solution allows users to stay connected immediately after landing, without changing their existing mobile number.
The packs, starting at BDT 594, offer a cost-effective alternative to local Saudi SIM cards while maintaining service quality. Available to both prepaid and postpaid customers, the offering enables users to activate roaming services in advance and pay in Bangladeshi Taka using their mobile balance, eliminating the need for foreign currency exchange.
Pilgrims can also avoid the disruption of sharing new contact numbers with family members, ensuring uninterrupted communication and continued access to essential digital services throughout their journey.
Kazi Mahboob Hassan, Chief Marketing Officer of Banglalink, said the initiative is designed to ease a common pain point faced by travellers during Hajj. He noted that the service allows users to bypass long queues and stay connected instantly upon arrival in Saudi Arabia.
The roaming packs can be purchased conveniently through the MyBL App, reinforcing the operator’s focus on user-friendly digital solutions.
With this launch, Banglalink underscores its commitment to enhancing customer experience by combining advanced technology with practical, people-centric services.
