Bangladesh approves purchase of 2 crore litres soybean oil

The Cabinet Committee on Government Purchase (CCGP) today approved a proposal to purchase two crore litres of refined soybean oil to meet the country’s growing demand.

The approval came from the 20th meeting of the CCGP in this year held at Bangladesh Secretariat with Finance Minister Amir Khosru Mahmud Chowdhury in the chair.

According to officials, the committee approved a proposal from the Ministry of Commerce for procuring 2 crore litres of refined soybean oil through the international open tender method at a total cost of Taka 282.57 crore.

The recommended supplier is PT TRINITY CAHYA ENERGY of Jakarta, Indonesia. Although the supplier is based in Indonesia, the soybean oil will be sourced from the Europe and the European Union.
