11-Year-Old Twins Become Youngest Developers on bdapps

DHAKA, 25 August 2026: Twin brothers Tanvir Hasan and Tafsir Hasan are proving that limited resources are no barrier to mastering technology. At just 11 years old and currently in the sixth grade, the duo has officially joined the app store bdapps as its youngest developers.

Hailing from Shariatpur, the brothers spent the past three years teaching themselves coding and app development through free YouTube tutorials and online resources. Without a computer of their own, they practiced entirely on their mother’s smartphone, successfully building three apps.

bdapps discovered the young talents through media coverage and invited them to the corporate headquarters of Robi Axiata PLC on Aug. 13. After the twins demonstrated their apps and shared their coding journey, bdapps officially onboarded them as the platform’s youngest developers.

A bdapps delegation visited the twins' home in Shariatpur on Aug. 19 to conduct a hands-on training workshop. bdapps team coached the brothers on app development, coding best practices, and AI tools, encouraging them to design AI-driven applications and prepare for emerging tech.

To support their growth, bdapps presented the brothers with a brand-new laptop and branded gifts, freeing them from having to rely exclusively on their mother's phone. The platform also awarded them full scholarships for an advanced app development course. The laptop and coursework will allow the twins to receive formal training, practice more comfortably, and build complex applications.

The twins also excel academically, having both earned merit-based scholarships in primary school. Looking ahead, they dream of becoming software engineers, working with global research firms like Microsoft or NASA, and eventually building their own AI-powered robot.

"Lack of resources shouldn't hold back talent—what young people need most is the right guidance," said Mohammad Shawkat Kader Chowdhury, Head of Marketing at Robi Axiata PLC. "We want youth like Tanvir and Tafsir shaping the future of AI and tech. This bdapps initiative may be a small step for them today, but it marks the start of major innovations tomorrow."

bdapps is a flagship digital initiative of Robi Axiata PLC and stands as one of Bangladesh’s largest app stores and developer ecosystems, hosting a community of over 100,000 developers, around 25% of whom are women. The platform enables developers to publish their own apps and explore monetization opportunities through telecom APIs, subscriptions, and other digital services. With more than 100,000 apps developed and published by its developer community, bdapps continues to support and empower digital talent across Bangladesh.
