Fisheries Minister stresses honesty, accountability in public service delivery

Fisheries and Livestock Minister Mohammed Aminur Rashid today said there is no alternative to responsibility, honesty, dedication and coordinated efforts to fulfill the expectations of the people.

Positive changes in society can be achieved through sincerity, accountability and the practice of good governance by those responsible at every level of the government and administration, he added.

Aminur Rashid, also the minister of the Ministry of Agriculture, made the remarks while exchanging post-Eid greetings with officials at the conference room of the Ministry of Fisheries and Livestock this afternoon, said a press release.

Mentioning that officials and employees of the administration remain engaged in state responsibilities for a long period of time, he said their role is very important in implementing national decisions, formulating policies and improving the quality of public services.

“If an individual is honest and responsible, the positive impact is reflected in the workplace and society,” he noted.

Highlighting that the head of government is aware of the country’s overall activities, the minister said there is no alternative to transparency, accountability and dedication in discharging duties.

He said the government is attaching importance to reducing unnecessary expenditure in administrative activities, ensuring transparency in the implementation of plans and making effective decisions.

The minister also referred to recent initiatives taken to reduce unnecessary expenditure through the review of various projects.

State Minister for Fisheries and Livestock Sultan Salahuddin Tuku said officials must perform their duties responsibly from their respective positions and there is no scope for any negligence.

He said responsibilities must be carried out with honesty and efficiency to fulfill public expectations.

The state minister stressed that officials should in no way become involved in any activity that could cause harm to the state.

Senior officials of the Ministry of Fisheries and Livestock were present on the occasion.
