Experts stress prevention and early detection

A view-exchange and awareness development meeting on diabetes was held at Bera Diabetic Hospital on Monday, bringing together healthcare professionals to highlight the risks and prevention of the disease.

The session featured Abdul Latif Joy as the keynote speaker, who discussed the growing prevalence of Diabetes and its long-term health consequences. He emphasized the importance of early diagnosis, lifestyle changes, and proper management to reduce complications.

Md. Hafizul Islam attended the event as chief guest, while K.M Ismail Hussain Swan was present as special guest. Both speakers underscored the need for increased awareness and coordinated efforts among healthcare providers to tackle the rising burden of diabetes.

More than 50 medical practitioners participated in the meeting, sharing insights and experiences on patient care and preventive strategies. The discussion focused on educating communities about the risks associated with diabetes and encouraging healthier lifestyles.

The meeting was chaired by Siful Islam Elias, president of Bera Diabetic Somity. Organisers said such initiatives are essential to strengthen awareness and improve healthcare responses to diabetes at the grassroots level.
