Zero tolerance stance on illegal activities
Monthly law and order coordination meeting was held at the Bera Upazila Parishad conference room in Pabna district on Monday (27 April) focusing on narcotics, illegal chemical factories establishment and arsenic issues.
The meeting was chaired by Upazila Nirbahi Officer Runalt Chakma, who outlined a stern action against unlawful activities.
Law enforcement agencies were urged to local people for intensifing operations against drug dealers and gambling networks in the meeting.They also called for cooperation from local representatives, local journalists and civil society members to identify offenders.
The meeting also addressed arsenic contamination and directed to relevant departments for conducting surveys and install arsenic-free tube wells in vaulnarable areas to ensure safe drinking water.
