Unity drives fresh chapter for Bera Press Club
The two-year tenure of the elected committee of Bera Press Club has expired, leading to the formation of a new five-member convener committee for the next 90 days.
Md. Shamsul Islam Chowdhury (Sajib), correspondent of Bangla Khobor Protidin, was unanimously elected as Convener, while Abuzar Gifari of Dainik Aaj Bela was appointed Member Secretary.
The decision was taken at a general meeting held at the Bera Press Club office on Sunday, June 7, at 10:00 AM. Outgoing General Secretary Mohsin Mallik hosted the meeting, while outgoing President Dr. Abdul Hannan, who completed two consecutive terms, delivered the opening speech.
Other Committee Members The other office-bearers of the convener committee are Ruhul Amin of Dainik Aajker Songbad as Organizational Secretary, Sarkar Arif Iftekhar Noyon of Dainik Kalbela as Assistant Organizational Secretary, and Md. Rifatul Islam Rifat of Dainik Bangladesh Somachar as Treasurer.
Advisory Committee Formed A four-member advisory committee was also formed to guide the new leadership. The advisors are Md. Salauddin Iqbal, Basanta Das, Md. Hafizur Rahman, and Md. Milon Hossain Mintu.
Objectives of the New Committee The newly formed committee stated that its main goals during the 90-day period are to strengthen the club’s organizational activities and organize a fair, impartial election for a full executive committee.
The announcement was received with great enthusiasm by the local journalist community. Attending journalists welcomed the new leaders with flower garlands and expressed hope for the continued success and development of the Bera Press Club.
