Young innovators showcase ideas and talent
A two-day programme marking the 47th National Science and Technology Week has begun in Bera, Pabna, bringing together students to promote innovation and scientific thinking.
The event, held under the theme “Science and Technology for Building an Innovation-Based Bangladesh,” was inaugurated on Wednesday morning at the Bera Upazila Parishad conference room.
Upazila Nirbahi Officer Renault Chakma attended as chief guest and presided over the function, while Assistant Commissioner (Land) Nuren Maisha Khan joined as special guest.
The first day featured academic competitions, including the 10th National Science Olympiad and a science quiz contest, where secondary and higher secondary students participated in separate groups, demonstrating their analytical and scientific skills.
The second day programme focuses on a science fair, where students are presenting innovative projects and research ideas to judges and visitors.
Addressing participants, UNO Chakma emphasised the importance of scientific knowledge and research in national development, urging students to think beyond conventional career paths and pursue innovation-driven fields.
“The youth of today are the driving force of tomorrow’s nation,” he said, encouraging students to develop creative thinking and contribute to technological advancement.
The event has drawn enthusiastic participation from students, various institutes cheifs, local prominent people and journalists, highlighting growing interest in science education at the grassroots level.
