Small savings drive big entrepreneurial success

Focusing on financial security and sustainable business growth, Society for Development Initiatives hosted a symposium for grassroots entrepreneurs in Dhamrai, Dhaka. The event aimed to promote a culture of savings while strengthening entrepreneurial capacity among emerging business owners.

Titled “Entrepreneurship and Savings: A Path to Growing Income and Securing the Future,” the workshop was held at SDI’s Integrated Resource Center, bringing together participants from Dhamrai, Manikganj, and Savar. Entrepreneurs and savings group members from diverse backgrounds joined the session to learn how combining business activities with regular savings can ensure long-term stability.

The event was attended by SDI Chairman Md. Abul Hossain as chief guest, alongside Ripa Monalisa of Bangladesh Bank and Dewan Koushik Ahmed. The session was chaired by Shamsul Haque.

The workshop featured two key segments—entrepreneurship and savings. Discussions highlighted early-stage business challenges, real-life success stories, and the importance of disciplined savings to support expansion, manage risks, and ensure family security.

Participants shared experiences of business growth and emphasized how structured savings contribute to resilience. Speakers noted that savings not only support entrepreneurship but also help address education, healthcare, and emergency needs.

Experts at the event stressed that integrating financial planning with business strategies can significantly improve long-term outcomes. Organisers said such initiatives will continue to empower grassroots entrepreneurs, helping them become more self-reliant and economically resilient.
