BSIA-SICIP Launches Semiconductor Testing Training Course for University Graduates

Dhaka, 16 September 2026: The Bangladesh Semiconductor Industry Association (BSIA), under the Skills for Industry Competitiveness and Innovation Program (SICIP), formally inaugurated a Semiconductor Testing Training Course on Tuesday (15 September 2026) at the AIUB Banani Campus, Dhaka.

A total of 25 graduates from different universities have enrolled in the three-month training program, which aims to equip young graduates with industry-relevant knowledge and practical skills in semiconductor testing and prepare them for employment and career opportunities in Bangladesh and abroad.

Mr. M. A. Jabbar, President of BSIA and Chairperson of the Program Standing Committee (PSC), BSIA-SICIP, chaired the program. Encouraging the participants to be sincere, hardworking and committed to continuous learning, he said, “You need to study seriously, understand how the semiconductor industry is evolving globally, and work hard to build your capabilities. With the right skills and dedication, you can pursue opportunities in both employment and entrepreneurship.”

Mr. Mynul Hossain, Joint Secretary and DEPD (FM), SICIP, attended the program as the Special Guest. Highlighting the expanding global semiconductor industry and its growing career prospects, he said, “The semiconductor sector offers significant opportunities both at home and abroad. As the Government is investing public resources to develop your skills under SICIP, you should make the best use of this opportunity and prepare yourselves for successful careers.”

Mr. Mohammad Afzal Hossain, Deputy Secretary and AEPD (PM), SICIP; and Mr. Munir Ahmed, Director, BSIA and Director, iTest Bangladesh Ltd., Dr. Hasan Uz Zaman, Professor, Department of Electrical and Electronic Engineering (EEE), BRAC University; also spoke at the program.

Earlier, Mr. Rashidul Hassan, Chief Coordinator, BSIA-SICIP, delivered the welcome address and briefed the participants on the objectives of the training initiative.

Representing the trainees, Ms. Sraboni Pal Dipi and Mr. Kamrul Ahsan briefly shared their expectations from the three-month course and expressed their interest in gaining practical, industry-oriented knowledge and skills in semiconductor testing.

During the program, a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) was signed between the Bangladesh Semiconductor Industry Association (BSIA) and iTest Bangladesh Ltd. for conducting the Semiconductor Testing Training Course under the BSIA initiative. Mr. M. A. Jabbar, President of BSIA, and Mr. Munir Ahmed, Director of iTest Bangladesh Ltd., signed the MoU on behalf of their respective organizations.

In addition to the trainees, faculty members from different universities, BSIA members, and representatives from the relevant industry attended the program as invited guests. The guests also visited the Semiconductor Testing Training Laboratory, where they were briefed on the facilities and equipment established for conducting the training.

It may be mentioned that, under the BSIA-SICIP program, a total of 3,500 young university graduates is planned to be trained in seven specialized areas of semiconductor technology over the next two years. The program aims to equip the graduates with industry-relevant knowledge and practical skills, enabling them to become skilled and employment-ready professionals for career opportunities both in Bangladesh and abroad.
