China, Bangladesh Explore Higher Education Cooperation as Ambassador Yao Wen Meets PolyU Delegation
Chinese Ambassador to Bangladesh Yao Wen held talks with a delegation from The Hong Kong Polytechnic University (PolyU) to explore ways of strengthening higher education cooperation and academic partnerships between China and Bangladesh.
During the meeting on July 21, Ambassador Yao met Lin Dahui, Chairman of the University Council of The Hong Kong Polytechnic University, Yang Liwei, Vice President of the university, and other members of the visiting delegation.
The two sides held in-depth discussions on leveraging PolyU's academic strengths, research capabilities and international partnerships to deepen educational collaboration between China and Bangladesh.
The discussions focused on expanding cooperation in higher education, academic exchanges, research collaboration and institutional partnerships, reflecting the growing importance of education in the broader China-Bangladesh strategic relationship.
Officials also explored opportunities to enhance collaboration through joint academic initiatives, knowledge sharing and capacity-building programmes that could benefit students, researchers and higher education institutions in both countries.
The meeting underscores the continued commitment of China and Bangladesh to strengthening people-to-people connectivity through education, innovation and academic cooperation.
As bilateral relations continue to expand across trade, infrastructure and technology, both countries are also placing increasing emphasis on educational partnerships as a key pillar of long-term cooperation.
