Chinese embassy distributes educational materials among students in Thakurgaon

China distributes educational materials, strengthening Bangladesh friendship and education.

Chinese Ambassador to Bangladesh Yao Wen attended an educational materials distribution ceremony in Thakurgaon in support of China-Bangladesh friendship.   

“I am very happy to join the educational materials distribution programme here. I hope our distribution of educational materials will play rope in improving education system,” said the ambassador.  

He made the remarks at a programme organized to distribute educational materials including school bags among school students as an initiative of China-Bangladesh friendship at Thakurgaon Shaheed Mohammad Ali Stadium this morning. 


“This is Mirza Islam Alamgir Sir's constituency. I want to say that Mirza Fakhrul is a famous politician of Bangladesh. A few days ago, a high-level delegation including him visited our country China. This reflects the support for China-Bangladesh friendship,” said Yao Wen. 


A total of 6,308 students from 36 educational institutions of Thakurgaon municipality received these materials.


Ambassador Yao Wen also said, "Students are the future of the country. I hope that our distribution of educational materials will play a role in improving your education system and accelerating overall development. I saw many farmlands here where you have been producing crops. We want to play a role in the development of Thakurgaon and I promise you that a strong delegation from China will come here by next July/August. I saw that a young student here gave a speech in excellent English, I hope they will be able to give a good speech in Chinese as well." 


He said, "I am hopeful that a delegation of students from here will visit China this year or next year and I will make arrangements for that."


Speaking as the chief guest BNP Secretary General and LGRD Minister Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir, said, "China is a very powerful country in the world today, they change every day, they become more advanced every day. Just as China has done good for the people of its own country, now they are supporting the people of the whole world and even us in various developments including bridges, culverts, roads, universities”. 


China has also agreed to play a role in the development of Thakurgaon, he added. 


Citing the example of China's progress, Mirza Fakhrul further said, "If we want to progress, we too must strive and students must be focused and diligent in their studies."


Deputy Commissioner Mohammad Rafiqul Haque, Superintendent of Police Belal Hossain, District BNP President Mirza Faisal Amin, General Secretary Poygam Ali, along with teachers, students of various educational institutions and officials of various departments were present.
