Strengthening bilateral academic relations

​​The Government of Pakistan has launched a premier scholarship initiative aimed at the capacity building of Bangladesh's youth by offering 500 fully funded seats in prestigious academic institutions. This program provides high-achieving students the opportunity to pursue advanced studies in diverse fields such as Medicine, Engineering, Computer Science, Business Administration, Mass Communication, Media Studies, and both Basic and Social Sciences.

The primary objective of this scheme is to strengthen the bilateral relationship between Pakistan and Bangladesh while fostering deeper people-to-people contacts between the two brotherly states.

Through this initiative, the Government of Pakistan reaffirms its commitment to regional cooperation and the empowerment of the next generation of Bangladeshi leaders.

Comprehensive Coverage and Benefits

Designed to foster educational exchange between the two nations, the scholarship is a comprehensive package that removes financial barriers for high-achieving students. Successful candidates will receive:

  • Full tuition fee waivers.

  • Monthly living stipends and a settlement allowance.

  • Hostel and mess charges.

  • Round-trip airfare.

  • Grants for books and stationery.

Eligibility and Academic Standards

The HEC has outlined strict academic criteria across various disciplines to ensure a merit-based selection process:

Program Level Academic Requirement Minimum Grade/CGPA
Undergraduate (General) 12 years of education 60% marks
Medicine/Dentistry/Pharmacy F.Sc (Pre-Medical) or equivalent 65% marks
Engineering F.Sc (Pre-Engineering) or equivalent 65% marks
Master’s Degree 16 years of relevant education 3.00 CGPA or 65%
Doctoral (PhD) 18 years of relevant education 3.00 CGPA or 65%

Scholarship Levels:

  • ​Undergraduate Level
  • Master Level
  • PhD Level 

​Other Requirements:

Candidates who have foreign qualification must provide Equivalence Certificate from IBCC & HEC. ​

Terms & Conditions

  • Only Bangladesh citizens are eligible for the award of scholarship.
  • Age limit for BS programs is 17-23 years and maximum age limit for doctoral programs is 35 years. 
  • The candidate must have acquired the requisite qualification on or before the last date of application submission.
  • The candidate will be required to serve Bangladesh after completion of education in Pakistan.
  • Selection will be made purely on merit basis after physical examination of the documents provided by the applicant.
  • Placement of students will be solely at HEC discretion
  • Medium of instruction will be English
  • ​Merit list will be prepared on the basis of information provided by the applicant. In case of any misinformation/misrepresentation, scholarship will be terminated at any stage

How to Apply:

  • An application form to be filled online at https://scholarship.hec.gov.pk/#/pbs​
  • All registered candidates appear in scholarship test organized by HEC in collaboration with Pakistan High Commission in Dhaka and Bangladesh's Ministry of Higher Education.
  • Shortlisted candidates will appear in an online interview.
  • ​Last date for submission of Applications is June 10, 2026.
