Huawei has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the Confucius Institute at the University of Dhaka (CIDU) to operate CIDU as registered Huawei ICT Academy. The MoU has been signed today at the Chinese Enterprise Job Fair, organized as part of ‘SINO-BANGLA DAY 2026’ at the University of Dhaka. Monday, Huawei Bangladesh said in a press release issued to the media that these details had been announced.

Ma Ben, Managing Director for Public Affairs, Huawei South Asia and Dr. Yang Hui, Director, Confucius Institute at University of Dhaka have signed the MoU on behalf of their respective organizations. Under the MoU, Huawei will be providing free access to an online, self-paced AI Training Program for the students of CIDU. The courses will be featuring structured learning opportunities covering areas such as Math Basics, Overview of AI, Intelligent Cultural Computing, AI: Principles & Applications, AI Technology & Applications, and Huawei AI Processor Development.

Ma Ben from Huawei, said, “Huawei is committed to strengthening industry-academia collaboration in Bangladesh’s ICT sector and creating opportunities for the young generation. Through this partnership with CIDU, we aim to equip students with future-ready AI knowledge and skills those are relevant to the evolving demands. We believe that empowering young talent through industry-oriented learning will help to build a skilled workforce capable of driving the country’s future.”

Dr. Yang Hui from CIDU, said, “Access to structured AI courses and global certification pathways will complement our academic efforts by giving learners greater exposure to emerging technologies and international standards. We are confident that this partnership will enrich the learning experience at CIDU and encourage more students to explore AI as a field of study and future career. We appreciate Huawei for taking this initiative to operate CIDU as a registered Huawei ICT Academy.”

Huawei ICT Academy serves as a global partnership bridge between industry and academia. By establishing this ecosystem within universities, the academy helps addressing gaps between academic learning and real-world skills, preparing students to pursue opportunities in the digital economy.

Huawei also collected CVs from aspiring students at the fair, providing them with a direct channel to explore employment opportunities with the company. Each year, fresh graduates join Huawei and build their careers through valuable professional experience.
