China, Bangladesh Discuss Stronger Health Cooperation
DHAKA, August 25, 2026: Chinese Ambassador to Bangladesh Yao Wen met with Health and Family Welfare Minister Sardar Md. Sakhawat Husain on Tuesday to discuss ways to further strengthen bilateral cooperation in the medical and healthcare sectors.
During the meeting, Ambassador Yao Wen and Minister Sakhawat held in-depth discussions on expanding China-Bangladesh cooperation in healthcare and advancing Government-to-Government (G2G) projects in the sector.
The discussions focused on strengthening bilateral engagement in medical and health services while exploring opportunities for greater practical cooperation between the two countries.
Ambassador Yao highlighted the importance of continued collaboration in healthcare as part of the broader China-Bangladesh bilateral partnership.
The meeting also underscored the two countries’ shared interest in advancing G2G cooperation and translating bilateral commitments into practical projects in the health sector.
The engagement comes as Bangladesh and China continue to expand cooperation across a range of sectors, including infrastructure, trade, education, technology and healthcare.
The two sides expressed their commitment to further strengthening cooperation in the medical and health sector and promoting the implementation of mutually agreed G2G initiatives.
