Healthcare access goes beyond national borders
A new partnership between Cikitsa International and Grameenphone aims to improve access to affordable international healthcare services for Bangladeshi patients.
The two organisations signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU), enabling GPStar customers and Grameenphone employees to access priority medical services abroad, according to a press release issued on Wednesday night.
Under the agreement, customers will receive faster and discounted treatment options in countries including India, Thailand, Singapore and the United Arab Emirates. They will also benefit from exclusive privileges at Manipal Hospitals across India.
Officials said the initiative is designed to streamline medical travel and reduce costs, offering patients more convenient access to specialised treatment beyond national borders.
The signing ceremony was attended by senior representatives from both organisations, while officials from Manipal Hospitals joined virtually.
Speaking at the event, Grameenphone representatives highlighted the company’s commitment to providing value-added services, noting that access to trusted international healthcare is an extension of customer care.
Cikitsa International officials said the collaboration reflects a broader vision of making healthcare more accessible regardless of geography, emphasising the importance of timely and coordinated treatment services.
Representatives from Manipal Hospitals also underscored their focus on patient-centric care, combining medical expertise with digital connectivity to ensure efficient service delivery.
The partnership is expected to ease the process of seeking treatment abroad, marking a step forward in expanding affordable healthcare options for Bangladeshi patients.
