Strengthening workplace welfare for garment sector
To ensure a safe, modern, and child-friendly environment for working parents, the BGMEA Md. Reazuddin Day Care Center has been officially inaugurated at the BGMEA Complex in Uttara, Dhaka.
The initiative aims to provide quality childcare facilities for the children of officers and employees working at the Bangladesh Garment Manufacturers and Exporters Association (BGMEA), helping to create a more worker-friendly and supportive workplace environment.
The day-care center was inaugurated on Monday by BGMEA President Mahmud Hasan Khan. The event was attended by Senior Vice President Enamul Haq Khan, Vice President Md. Rezwan Selim, Vice President (Finance) Mizanur Rahman, Vice President Md. Shihab Udduja Chowdhury, Director Shah Rayeed Chowdhury, Director Mohammad Sohel, and Acting Secretary Major Md. Saiful Islam, psc, cscm (Retd.), along with other officials and staff members.
Speaking at the inauguration, BGMEA President Mahmud Hasan Khan said that the organization places its workforce at the center of all development initiatives.
“The workforce of BGMEA is the core driving force of our organization. This modern day-care center has been established to ensure the safety and proper development of the children of working parents. It will allow our employees to focus on their duties while their children remain in a secure and caring environment,” he said.
The newly established day-care center is equipped with modern facilities designed for early childhood care, learning, and play. It includes trained supervisors, a clean and safe environment, and child-friendly infrastructure aimed at supporting both physical and mental development.
BGMEA leaders later inspected the facilities, including classrooms and activity areas, after the inauguration ceremony.
Employees of BGMEA have welcomed the initiative, saying that having an on-site high-quality day-care center significantly reduces their daily stress and improves work-life balance.
BGMEA continues to implement various welfare-oriented programs to ensure a supportive and employee-friendly working environment across its organization.
