CCEA approves Kanchpur Bus Terminal infrastructure development proposal.
The Cabinet Committee on Economic Affairs (CCEA) today approved in principle a proposal to develop essential infrastructure at the Kanchpur Bus Terminal under the Dhaka South City Corporation (DSCC).
The approval came from the 21st meeting of the CCEA this year, held at the Bangladesh Secretariat with Finance Minister Amir Khosru Mahmud Chowdhury in the chair.
According to officials, the Local Government Division placed the proposal before the committee for the construction of sheds, ticket counters, toilets, office rooms and other ancillary facilities at the Kanchpur Bus Terminal.
The committee recommended implementing the project through the Direct Procurement Method (DPM).
The infrastructure development works will be carried out by Chittagong Dry Dock Limited (CDDL), an organisation under the Bangladesh Navy.
Officials said the project is aimed at improving passenger amenities and strengthening operational facilities at the Kanchpur Bus Terminal.
