Courtesy Meeting between TMGB and Russian House in Dhaka

The Executive Committee of the Technology Media Guild Bangladesh (TMGB) held a courtesy meeting with the Director of the Russian House in Dhaka to explore ways to strengthen professional ties and cooperation between technology journalists and media professionals of Bangladesh and Russia.

A TMGB delegation, led by its President Mohammad Kawsar Uddin, met Alexandra A. Khlevnoy, Director of the Russian House in Dhaka, at the Russian House on Wednesday.

The delegation included Vice Presidents Kumar Bishwajit Roy and Moidul Islam, General Secretary Mursalin Haque Zonaid, Treasurer Mahadi hasan shimul, Organising Secretary Md. Golam Dustogir Touhid, Publication Secretary Naznin Akter Lucky, and Executive Members Nazmul Hossain and Rahim Sheikh.

During the meeting, the two sides discussed various avenues for expanding cooperation in science and technology journalism and strengthening professional exchanges between the media communities of Bangladesh and Russia.

Particular emphasis was placed on organising joint media workshops, masterclasses, professional training programmes and capacity-building initiatives for science and technology journalists. Both sides expressed interest in developing programmes to enhance the professional and specialised skills of journalists.

The Russian House expressed its willingness to provide necessary support for such initiatives. The meeting also explored opportunities for establishing long-term professional links between media organisations in Bangladesh and Russia.

Alexandra A. Khlevnoy briefed the TMGB delegation on various activities of the Russian House, including opportunities for higher education in Russia through government scholarships, Russian language courses, and international events and short-term programmes for Bangladeshi children, young people and professionals.

The participants also discussed further opportunities for capacity building among science and technology journalists and media professionals, as well as prospects for developing sustained professional cooperation between media organisations of the two countries.

The TMGB delegation welcomed the Russian House’s positive approach and expressed hope that the meeting would pave the way for stronger cooperation between technology journalists and media organisations in Bangladesh and Russia.
