Bangladesh forms cell to resolve expatriates’ complaints quickly.
The Ministry of Expatriates' Welfare and Overseas Employment has established a 'Complaint Resolution and Redress Cell' to ensure the prompt handling of various complaints lodged by the Bangladeshi expatriates living abroad.
The information was disclosed in an office order issued by the ministry's Administration Wing, official sources said here today.
According to the order, the five-member cell will be headed by an additional secretary or a joint secretary of the ministry's Monitoring and Enforcement Wing as the convener.
Other members of the cell are - joint secretary of the Welfare Wing, a deputy secretary of the Legal Wing, the deputy secretary of the Service and Protocol Wing and the senior assistant secretary of the Enforcement-2 Wing. The senior assistant secretary of the Enforcement-2 Wing will act as the member secretary of the cell.
The office order stated that the cell will take necessary measures to promptly resolve complaints received through the designated email addresses.
It also said that applications and complaints received, along with the actions taken on them, will be submitted to the minister and the secretary on a daily or weekly basis.
The order further noted that the cell may co-opt additional members, if necessary.
The office order, signed by Deputy Secretary Dr. Anisur Rahman, has come into effect immediately.
