Indian High Commissioner joins Onam celebrations in Dhaka

Indian High Commissioner to Bangladesh Dinesh Trivedi joined Onam celebrations organised by the Malayali Association of Bangladesh in Dhaka, bringing together nearly 600 members of the Indian community and friends of India in Bangladesh.

The Indian High Commission shared the information in a post on its official social media page.

Trivedi also participated in the cultural celebrations, trying his hand at the traditional ilathaalam and chenda, musical instruments associated with Kerala’s cultural traditions.

The celebration showcased the cultural heritage of Kerala and the wider diversity of Indian traditions, while providing an opportunity for members of the Indian community and their Bangladeshi friends to come together.

The event was attended by around 600 people and highlighted the role of cultural activities in strengthening people-to-people ties between India and Bangladesh.
