Nepal Envoy Highlights Foreign Policy, Bangladesh Ties
DHAKA, Aug 16: Nepal’s Ambassador to Bangladesh Ghanashyam Bhandari has highlighted the evolution of Nepal’s foreign policy and the growing depth of Nepal-Bangladesh relations during a lecture at the Foreign Service Academy in Dhaka.
The ambassador delivered the lecture titled “Evolution of Nepal’s Foreign Policy and Perspectives on Nepal-Bangladesh Relations” to participants of the 32nd Specialized Diplomatic Training Course (SDTC) and the 4th Professional Master’s in International Relations and Diplomacy (PMIRD) programme at the academy on Sunday afternoon.
In his lecture, Ambassador Bhandari outlined the historical evolution of Nepal’s foreign policy and discussed the country’s contemporary diplomatic engagements.
He also highlighted key dimensions of Nepal-Bangladesh relations, describing the ties as being characterised by good neighbourliness, expanding economic partnership and strong people-to-people connections.
The ambassador underscored the importance of maintaining close bilateral engagement and strengthening areas of mutual interest between the two South Asian countries.
The discussion provided the diplomatic trainees with an opportunity to gain insights into Nepal’s foreign policy priorities and its approach to regional and bilateral diplomacy.
An interactive question-and-answer session followed the lecture, during which Ambassador Bhandari responded to questions from participants on Nepal’s foreign policy and various aspects of Nepal-Bangladesh relations.
The engagement comes amid continued efforts by the two countries to deepen cooperation in areas of shared interest and further strengthen their longstanding friendly relations.
