Pakistan, Bangladesh Discuss Police Training Cooperation

DHAKA, July 27, 2026 — Pakistan High Commissioner to Bangladesh Mr. Imran Haider met Mr. Kazi Md. Fazlul Karim, BPM-Sheba, Rector of the Police Staff College (PSC), Dhaka, on Monday to discuss strengthening bilateral cooperation in professional police training, capacity-building programmes, and institutional collaboration between the two countries.

The meeting was held at the Rector's office, focused on expanding cooperation through training exchanges, professional development initiatives, and enhanced institutional linkages between Pakistan and Bangladesh. Both sides explored opportunities to deepen collaboration in areas that contribute to strengthening the professional capabilities of law enforcement institutions.

The discussions reflected the shared interest of both countries in promoting knowledge-sharing and fostering closer engagement between their respective training institutions. Such cooperation is expected to facilitate the exchange of expertise, best practices, and professional experiences in policing and public security.

During his visit, High Commissioner Imran Haider toured various facilities of the Police Staff College, one of Bangladesh's premier institutions for advanced police education and leadership training. He was briefed on the college's academic and training activities as well as its role in developing senior police officers.

The High Commissioner also interacted with participants of ongoing training courses, exchanging views on professional development, leadership, and the importance of international cooperation in addressing evolving security and law enforcement challenges.

The visit underscores the growing engagement between Pakistan and Bangladesh in institutional cooperation, with both sides expressing interest in expanding partnerships that promote capacity building, professional excellence, and stronger people-to-people and institutional ties.
