DHAKA, 4 August 2026: The Pakistan High Commission has significantly intensified its presence and engagement across major social media platforms, marking a strategic shift toward modern public diplomacy and direct communication with citizens, international observers and diaspora communities.

Pakistan High Commission Counsellor (Press) Shabid Ullah Wazir said that the high commission is very active in official accounts including X (formerly Twitter), Facebook, YouTube, Instagram and LinkedIn—have seen a noticeable increase in posting frequency, multimedia content production and audience interaction.

The initiative aims to modernize diplomatic outreach, promote educational and cultural initiatives, and provide timely updates on bilateral relations between Pakistan and Bangladesh, he added.

The High Commission has increasingly used digital platforms to share information on diplomatic engagements, high-level meetings, trade and investment opportunities, educational scholarships, cultural exchanges, humanitarian initiatives, and consular services. Regular posts featuring official statements, event highlights, videos, photographs and infographics have made the mission’s activities more accessible to the public.

High Commission Office said the enhanced online presence is intended to strengthen transparency, improve public access to official information and foster stronger people-to-people connections. Interactive features such as live broadcasts, event coverage, interviews and prompt responses to public inquiries have also contributed to higher engagement levels across platforms.

The High Commission has placed particular emphasis on showcasing cooperation between Pakistan and Bangladesh in areas including trade, education, healthcare, agriculture, culture and sports. Posts highlighting scholarship opportunities for Bangladeshi students, participation in international exhibitions, business forums, national day celebrations, and cultural events have received considerable attention from followers.

Digital diplomacy has also become an important platform for promoting Pakistan’s tourism potential, investment climate, technological advancements and cultural heritage. Through professionally produced visual content, the mission seeks to project a positive image of Pakistan while encouraging greater interaction between the peoples of the two countries.

Communication experts note that social media has become an indispensable component of contemporary diplomacy, allowing diplomatic missions to engage wider audiences beyond government institutions. The growing use of digital platforms enables embassies to counter misinformation, provide verified information quickly, and build stronger public trust.

Observers believe the Pakistan High Commission’s enhanced social media strategy reflects the evolving nature of diplomatic communication, where digital engagement complements traditional diplomatic efforts. As online platforms continue to shape public discourse, the mission’s expanded digital footprint is expected to further strengthen its outreach, increase public awareness of bilateral initiatives, and reinforce Pakistan’s broader public diplomacy objectives in Bangladesh.
