PM, spouse revisit DMC hostel, inspire medical students.
Prime Minister Tarique Rahman and his spouse Dr Zubaida Rahman today passed some quality times with the students of Kazi Fazlul Huq Women's Hostel of Dhaka Medical College (DMC).
After inaugurating the DMC Day-2026 programme by releasing balloons and pigeons at 10:00 am on the campus, the Prime Minister and Dr Zubaida Rahman went to the Kazi Fazlul Huq Women's Hostel.
Dr Zubaida Rahman lived at the hostel while studying at Dhaka Medical College.
The students had gathered in front of the hostel's main entrance ahead of the Prime Minister's arrival.
They were delighted to meet Prime Minister Tarique Rahman and Dr Zubaida Rahman.
Recalling some old memories, the Prime Minister said, "When I used to bring Zubaida Rahman to the medical college, I would seat her beside me in the front seat of the car. Today, while coming here, I again asked her to sit in the front seat beside me, and I brought her to meet you."
Addressing the students, Tarique Rahman said, "I pray that all of you become established in your respective fields."
Dr. Zubaida Rahman became emotional while recalling her student days in the college and said, "Today, many memories are coming back. I spent an important part of my life on this campus. Those days are coming back to my mind."
Addressing the current students, she said, "We must always look forward. Many challenges and hardships would come in life. We should not hold on to anger or resentment. We must move towards a bright future.
"We have to take this medical college to such a level that people around the world recognise the quality of its healthcare services. One day, we should all be proud of this medical college," Dr Zubaida Rahman added.
The students later took selfies with the Prime Minister and Dr Zubaida Rahman.
