Switzerland Embassy backs Rights Hackathon 2026 in Dhaka
The Embassy of Switzerland in Bangladesh has announced its support for the Rights Hackathon 2026, an initiative aimed at engaging young people in developing practical solutions to human rights challenges in Bangladesh.
Organised by Sapran (সপ্রান), the hackathon will be held in Dhaka on November 7–8 under the theme “Shared Futures: Rights, Dignity and Coexistence in Bangladesh.”
According to the Swiss Embassy, participating teams of young people will work alongside experts to identify and address specific human rights issues and develop practical, solution-oriented ideas.
The initiative is designed to create a space where young people can combine their creativity, knowledge and problem-solving skills to contribute to discussions on rights, dignity and peaceful coexistence.
The call for applications is open until October 20, the embassy said.
The Swiss Embassy’s support for the programme reflects Switzerland’s broader engagement with human rights, dignity and inclusive dialogue in Bangladesh.
