JS library committee advances RFID, digital upgrade proposals.
The third meeting of the library committee of the 13th Jatiya Sangsad held at the Jatiya Sangsad Bhaban here today.
Committee Chairman and Deputy Speaker Barrister Kayser Kamal presided over the meeting.
Committee members whip ABM Ashraf Uddin Nizan, Dr M Mahbubur Rahman, Sayeed Al Noman. ABM Mosharraf Hossen and Mohammad Nazibur Rahman took part in the meeting.
During the meeting, the committee reviewed the progress of implementation of the decisions taken in the previous meeting. At the same time, reports of sub-committee 1, 2,3 and 4 were presented in the meeting and discussed detailed on this report.
Recommendation was placed to take necessary steps for launching radio frequency identification (RFID) technology for book management at the JatiyaSangsad library.
A three member sub-committee was formed with committee member Sayeed Al Noman as its convener and ABM Mosharraf Hossen and Mohammad Nazibur Rahman as its member for formulating a report aiming to make the sangsad library bulletin modern and up-to-date.
The meeting also recommended launching internet in other programmes including sound system in the Jatiya Sangsad under strengthening Institutions, policies and services (SIPS) project of the Jatiya Sangsad secretariat with the assistance of the UNDP.
In addition, the meeting also reviewed the sub-committee report for reformation of board of directors according to Bangladesh Institute of Parliamentary Studies Act and decided that the committee members to meet with the Speaker.
Parliament secretariat officials were also present at the meeting.
