Amir Khasru reaffirms BNP’s commitment to Ziaur Rahman’s ideals.
Finance and Planning Minister Amir Khasru Mahmud Chowdhury said the founder of the Bangladesh Nationalist Party (BNP), Shaheed President Ziaur Rahman, established the party with the vision of transforming Bangladesh into a developed, prosperous and self-respecting nation.
“Since its inception, the BNP has moved forward by adhering to the ideals and philosophy of Shaheed President Ziaur Rahman,” the minister said.
He made the remarks while talking to reporters after paying tribute at the temporary burial site of Shaheed President Ziaur Rahman in Rangunia here, this morning on the occasion of the BNP's founding anniversary.
The Finance Minister said the core strengths of the BNP lie in the patriotism, democracy, nationalism and people-oriented politics championed by Shaheed President Ziaur Rahman.
Khasru said the BNP would be further organised, strengthened and enriched in the future by embracing more deeply the ideals and political philosophy of Ziaur Rahman.
He said the BNP would continue its efforts for democracy, the rights of the people and the development of the country by following the path shown by Ziaur Rahman.
Gias Uddin Quader Chowdhury, MP, South District BNP Convener Idris Mia, Chattogram Development Authority Chairman Engineer Belayet Hossain, along with other BNP leaders and affiliates, were present at the event.
Following the wreath-laying ceremony at Ziaur Rahman's mausoleum, the leaders offered munajat, seeking eternal peace and forgiveness for Shaheed President Ziaur Rahman and former Prime Minister Khaleda Zia, as well as peace and prosperity for the nation.
