DC Conference 2026 discusses reforms in culture, tourism, finance, agriculture, fisheries, and food security.

Key issues relating to culture, tourism, finance, agriculture and food security were discussed on the second day of the Deputy Commissioners’ Conference 2026 held at the Osmani Memorial Auditorium today.

At the first session of the conference, the Ministry of Cultural Affairs discussed converting Barishal’s old Collectorate Building into a museum, renovating Rajbaris and archaeological sites in Dinajpur, Thakurgaon, Narayanganj, Chapainawabganj and Natore, promoting cultural activities in educational institutions, and constructing Shilpakala Academy buildings in Netrokona, Naogaon and Satkhira.

The Ministry of Civil Aviation and Tourism discussed building tourist hotels and motels in Kishoreganj, Barishal, Barguna and Netrokona, resuming rescue operations at Cox’s Bazar beach, declaring Dahagram and Angorpota as a tourism zone with reopening of the old airport, upgrading Saidpur Airport to an international airport, and developing tourist attractions nationwide.

One of the agenda of the second session of the conference covered Finance, Internal Resources, Financial Institutions, Planning, Implementation Monitoring and Evaluation, and Statistics divisions. 

Measures included recruiting manpower before project completion, implementing social safety nets and the ninth pay scale, introducing A-Challan in land registration, expanding cashless transactions (Bangla QR), informing farmers about low-interest loans, reviewing project effectiveness, monitoring ADP progress, and supporting census activities.

In the third session, critical issues of Fisheries, Agriculture and Food sectors were discussed elaborately.

Key topics included expanding Shrimp cultivation, establishing hatcheries, ensuring alternative employment for fishermen during hilsa conservation, creating fish sanctuaries.

Besides issues like promoting diversified potato use and pearl cultivation, improving agricultural productivity, and ensuring proper management and quality of food grains were discussed in the third session.
