President urges DCH Trust to expand healthcare for poor people

A delegation of the Dhaka Community Hospital Trust (DCH Trust) today paid a courtesy call on President Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir at Bangabhaban.

During the meeting, the President praised the services of DCH Trust and called for expanding its activities to provide healthcare services to poor and underprivileged people.

The trust’s coordinator Professor Dr Mahmuder Rahman led the delegation, a press release issued by the President’s Press Wing said.

“Dhaka Community Hospital Trust has been playing an important role in providing healthcare services to poor and helpless people for a long time,” the President said.

Expressing gratitude to the Trust, Mirza Fakhrul Islam said that he himself had sent many insolvent patients to the hospital for treatment and the institution had extended cooperation in providing them healthcare services.

The President assured them of providing necessary cooperation as the delegation sought cooperation regarding the hospital and its healthcare services.

The delegation handed over to the President an invitation letter requesting his presence at the international conference titled ‘Disaster Preparedness and Resilient Bangladesh: Leading the Future’, scheduled to be held on November 30 at Pan Pacific Sonargaon Hotel here. 

The President graciously consented to attend the event.

Other members of the delegation were Dhaka Community Hospital Trust Project and Research Director Md Golam Mostafa, Director Professor Dr Omar Sharif Ibne Hasan and Director of the Public Relations Department Waker Hossain Tapan.

President’s Military Secretary and Secretary of the Public Division were present on the occasion.
