Tech showcase to shape digital future

Bangladesh is set to host its first-ever “Broadband Expo 2026” in Dhaka from April 13 to 15, aiming to highlight innovations and future prospects in the country’s broadband and ICT sector. The three-day long event will take place at the Bangladesh-China Friendship Exhibition Center.

The expo is being organised by the Internet Service Providers Association of Bangladesh (ISPB) under the theme “Linking People, Linking Future.” 

ISPB president Mohammad Aminul Hakim announced this information in a press conference was held at their office auditorium on Saturday.

Among others, Secretary General Nazmul Karim Bhuiyan, Vice President Neyamul Haque Khan, Joint Secretaries Mahbub Alam Raju and Fuad Mohammad Sharafuddin, Treasurer Moin Uddin Ahmed, Directors Rashedur Rahman Rajon, Md. Mithu Hawlader, Sabbir Ahmed, Raisul Islam Tuhin, Md. Jubayer Islam and S.M. Saiful Islam Selim, along with representatives from the event sponsors.

Information Minister Zahir Uddin Swapan is expected to inaugurate the event as chief guest, while several high-level policymakers and regulators will attend as special guests. The closing ceremony will be graced by Fakir Mahbub Anam, reflecting the important of the initiative for the local digital transformation agenda.

A major attraction of the expo will be the “Experience Zone,” where university students will showcase around 25 innovative projects focused on robotics and Internet of Things (IoT). As well as, ICT companies will display their latest products, services, and networking solutions.

The event will feature 10 pavilions, 35 mini-pavilions and 20 stalls, with participation from leading technological companies. Industry insiders believe the expo will serve as a key platform for collaboration, knowledge exchange, and investment in Bangladesh’s rapidly expanding broadband sector.
