Bangladesh–Japan ties deepen through industrial cooperation.

Japanese Ambassador to Bangladesh Saida Shinichi today paid a courtesy call on Industries Minister Khandakar Abdul Muktadir at his office in Motijheel here.

During the meeting, they discussed ways to expand cooperation in the industrial sector between the two countries.

The Industries Minister said Japan is a long-standing development partner and a trusted friend of Bangladesh, playing a significant role in the country’s socio-economic development and industrialisation. He stressed further strengthening mutual cooperation in areas of shared interest.

The Japanese envoy said Japan would continue its support for Bangladesh’s development journey, as in the past.

He also welcomed the proposal to establish a Ship Recycling Facility with a Treatment, Storage and Disposal Facility (TSDF) in Sitakunda, Chattogram, and said a rapid feasibility study would be undertaken in this regard.
