Japan PM congratulates Bangladesh President Mirza Fakhrul Alamgir.
Japanese Prime Minister Takaichi Sanae today congratulated President Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir on assuming the office of the President.
The Japanese Prime Minister conveyed the message through an official letter.
"On behalf of the government and people of Japan, I would like to extend my heartfelt congratulations on your assumption of office as the President of the People's Republic of Bangladesh," the letter read.
Japan and Bangladesh have cultivated a firm friendship since Bangladesh's independence in 1971. Japan has consistently supported the nation-building efforts of Bangladesh as a reliable friend, the letter further read.
Japan is committed to further promoting bilateral relations between our two countries and working closely with Bangladesh toward the realization of a Free and Open Indo-Pacific (FOIP), it said.
"Please accept my best wishes for your good health and success, as well as for further prosperity of Bangladesh," it further noted.
