Prime minister conveys solidarity with Bangladesh, prays for victims and swift recovery
Prime Minister of Pakistan Shehbaz Sharif has expressed deep sorrow over the tragic loss of lives and widespread devastation caused by the recent floods and landslides in Bangladesh, extending condolences on behalf of the people of Pakistan.
In a condolence message, the Pakistani prime minister said he was "deeply saddened" by the disaster and conveyed his heartfelt sympathies to the bereaved families.
"On behalf of the people of Pakistan, I extend my heartfelt condolences to the bereaved families and express our unwavering solidarity with the Government and people of Bangladesh," he said.
Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif also prayed for the speedy recovery of those injured and for the safety and well-being of all people affected by the disaster.
"We pray for the swift recovery of the injured and the safety of all those affected," the statement added.
The condolence message was shared through the official Facebook and X (formerly Twitter) accounts of the High Commission of Pakistan in Bangladesh. The message was also posted on Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif's official X account.
The gesture comes as Bangladesh continues to grapple with severe flooding and landslides that have claimed lives, displaced thousands of people, and caused extensive damage to homes, infrastructure, and agricultural land.
