People-to-People Ties Key to Stronger Bangladesh-Pakistan Relations

Dhaka, June 20: Pakistani High Commissioner Imran Haider on Friday said stronger people-to-people ties can play a vital role in enhancing Bangladesh-Pakistan relations and deepening mutual understanding between the two nations.

He highlighted that regular cultural and knowledge exchange between academics, journalists and business leaders are crucial for regional engagement.

Bangladesh and Pakistan have recently increased engagements in trade, culture and people-to-people exchanges, reflecting growing interest in strengthening bilateral cooperation, he added.

He noted that future initiatives will focus on easing travel barriers and creating new platforms for youth engagement.

The High Commissioner made the remarks at the inaugural session of a food festival organized by the Pakistan High Commission at its office premises in Dhaka on Friday to showcase Pakistan's rich and diverse culinary heritage.

The event reflected ongoing efforts to strengthen Bangladesh-Pakistan relations through cultural diplomacy and greater public engagement.

Imran Haider warmly welcomed distinguished guests, including members of the diplomatic community, academia, media representatives and the general public who attended the event around five thousand attendees of local people.

The participants expressed interest in Pakistani cuisine and fashion and appreciated the initiative of the Pakistan High Commission.

Talking to media representatives on the occasion, the High Commissioner said that the participation of such a large number of people in the event is very encouraging.

The High Commissioner reiterated that strengthening Bangladesh-Pakistan relations through cultural exchange remains a key priority.

Renowned Pakistani fashion brands also showcased their products.

Members of diplomatic corps and their families participated in the event.

The festival continued throughout the day, providing visitors from all walks of life with an opportunity to experience Pakistan's rich cuisine, vibrant culture and dynamic fashion products in a welcoming environment.
