Government to form upazila committees nationwide to curb juvenile gangs.

The government is stepping up efforts to curb juvenile gang activities across the country, with the Home Ministry deciding to form anti-juvenile gang committees in all upazilas.

Under the decision, Upazila Nirbahi Officers (UNOs) will serve as presidents of the committees, while officers-in-charge (OCs) of the respective police stations will act as member-secretaries.

The move signals a stronger administrative and law enforcement approach to tackling juvenile gang-related activities, raising hopes for more coordinated action at the grassroots level.

With local administration and police brought under a unified framework, the initiative is expected to strengthen monitoring, improve coordination and support preventive measures against juvenile gang involvement.

The decision reflects the government's tougher stance on juvenile gangs, as concerns over youth violence and public safety continue to draw attention nationwide.
