Pakistan exhibition to open new doors for bilateral trade
DHAKA, Aug 28: The Pakistan Association of Exhibition Industry (PAEI) will organize the 4th "Made in Pakistan" Exhibition alongside the Pakistan-Bangladesh Business Opportunities Conference, aims to boost bilateral trade, unlock new commercial avenues, and strengthen economic ties between the two countries.
The five-day-long exhibition will be held September 22 to 26 at the International Convention City Bashundhara (ICCB) in the city, remaining open to visitors daily from 10:00 AM to 9:00 PM.
PAEI founder M. Khurshid Barlas told The Shuttle Times that the exhibition will showcase a broad array of Pakistani products and industries, focusing on sectors with strong potential for expanded commercial engagement with Bangladesh. Among the featured products will be Pakistani fashion and textiles, footwear, traditional handicrafts, gems and jewellery, furniture, fixtures, kitchenware, crockery and other household goods.
He mentioned that three types of business entities will participate in the exhibition: Categories A, B, and C. Category A includes global exporters with strong brand equity looking to invest and capture market share. Category B covers medium-sized businesses operating via distribution networks. Category C represents Small and Medium Enterprises (SMEs).
The exhibition will also feature tiles, ceramics and sanitary ware, alongside industrial products including electrical appliances, machinery and equipment, heating, ventilation, air-conditioning and refrigeration (HVACR) systems, paints, varnishes and chemicals.
Packaged food products and sports goods will also be displayed, while companies from Pakistan’s tourism and hospitality sectors are expected to participate as international service providers.
The business conference is intended to provide an avenue for companies, entrepreneurs and business representatives from Bangladesh and Pakistan to identify potential partnerships, trade links and investment opportunities.
The event comes as Bangladesh and Pakistan seek to expand economic engagement beyond traditional areas of bilateral cooperation. Increased private-sector interaction could help identify opportunities for market access, sourcing, joint ventures and business-to-business partnerships.
Organisers said visitors will be able to attend the exhibition free of charge, with ‘no prior registration required’. Members of the public, businesspeople and families are welcome to visit the event.
