Celebrating excellence across retail sector

A total of 64 initiatives were recognised at the Bangladesh Retail Awards 2026, highlighting innovation, operational excellence and customer-centric practices across the country’s retail industry.

Organised by Bangladesh Retail Forum in collaboration with Bangladesh Brand Forum, the third edition of the awards was held at Radisson Blu Water Garden Hotel on April 18.

Out of 347 nominations submitted by 53 organisations, 40 initiatives secured winner titles while 24 received honourable mentions across 26 categories. The Best Retailer segment emerged as the most competitive, featuring 14 sub-categories including fashion, electronics, restaurants, banking and cosmetics.

However, no awards were presented in three categories—Innovation in Last Mile Distribution, Inspiring Retailer of the Year and Experiential Retailer of the Year—due to entries not meeting the required standards.

Opening the ceremony, Sajid Mahbub of Bangladesh Brand Forum said the retail sector is being reshaped by technology, evolving consumer expectations and purpose-driven strategies. He noted that the recognised initiatives reflect how businesses are adapting and leading change through innovation and resilience.

The awards ceremony followed the Bangladesh Retail Congress 2026, where industry leaders discussed data-driven strategies, supply chain efficiency and the growing role of technology in retail.

Keynote speakers included Ashraf Bin Taj, Shadman Sadikin of Unilever Bangladesh Ltd., and Sami Ashraf, who emphasised knowledge-based transformation and collaboration.

The event underscored a unified vision to build a more agile, innovative and future-ready retail ecosystem in Bangladesh.
