Japan Education Seminar 2026 was held at Bangladesh Agricultural University in Mymensingh, organised by JUAAB in cooperation with the Embassy of Japan in Bangladesh.
MYMENSINGH, October 11: The Japan Education Seminar 2026 was held at Bangladesh Agricultural University (BAU) in Mymensingh on Saturday, bringing together academic leaders and representatives of Japan to highlight educational engagement between Bangladesh and Japan.
The seminar was organised by the Japanese Universities Alumni Association in Bangladesh (JUAAB) in cooperation with the Embassy of Japan in Bangladesh at the Shilpacharya Zainul Abedin Auditorium on the BAU campus.
Prof Dr Md Rafiqul Islam Sarder, vice-chancellor of Bangladesh Agricultural University, attended the programme as the chief guest, while Yu Aoyagi, head of public relations and culture at the Embassy of Japan in Bangladesh, attended as the special guest.
Prof Dr A T M Zafrul Azam, president of JUAAB, chaired the event.
The seminar reflected ongoing engagement between Bangladeshi academic institutions, Japanese universities and alumni networks in promoting educational cooperation.
Japan has remained an important destination for international students seeking higher education and research opportunities. Initiatives involving academic institutions, alumni associations and diplomatic missions can help strengthen educational links, facilitate knowledge exchange and create opportunities for future collaboration.
The participation of BAU leadership and the Japanese Embassy representative highlighted the role of academic and diplomatic engagement in fostering closer people-to-people relations between Bangladesh and Japan.
