PM's aide urges journalists to ensure accuracy.
Additional Press Secretary to the Prime Minister
Atikur Rahman Ruman has urged journalists to present accurate information and
avoid spreading falsehoods and misinformation.
Speaking virtually at a two-day training programme for journalists from
Naogaon held here today, he said journalists should portray facts and the
correct picture while making constructive criticism of government
shortcomings.
Ruman said the BNP government has always supported independent journalism and
respects journalists' right to criticise its activities.
He said that several newspapers had published false reports against the BNP
during the previous Awami League government, but BNP does not practice
revenge politics.
Thirty journalists are participating in the training, organised by Gram
Unnayan Karma (GUK). Senior journalists and academics are conducting the
sessions.
