Salma Adil Foundation Extends Support to Flood-Affected Students in Banshkhali
Salma Adil Foundation has extended a helping hand to students affected by the recent devastating floods in Banshkhali, Chattogram, by distributing essential educational materials among them.
On the afternoon of August 22, educational materials were distributed at two government primary schools in Banshkhali through an initiative funded by the Salma Adil Foundation and organised by Banshkhali Times.
At West Chechuria Ghonapara Government Primary School and Baraitali Government Primary School, new school bags and guidebooks were handed over to students whose education had been disrupted by the floods.
The programme was conducted by Lecturer Jahedul Islam Tuku. Among those present were Abu Obaida Arafat, Editor of Banshkhali Times; poet Arkanul Islam; Salma Adil Foundation representatives Imtiaz Uddin and Akibul Haque; Mizan Bin Taher, Member Secretary of Banshkhali Press Club; Asim Kumar Dey, Head Teacher of West Chechuria Ghonapara Government Primary School; and Md. Ashek Urahman Chowdhury, Head Teacher of Baraitali Government Primary School.
Speaking at the programme, the guests expressed their appreciation to Lion Salma Adil, Founder of the Salma Adil Foundation, for her continued commitment to humanitarian causes. They noted that the foundation has been supporting underprivileged and vulnerable communities through various initiatives for a long time. Since the recent floods hit Banshkhali, the foundation has also undertaken relief efforts on a significant scale, earning appreciation from the local community.
The speakers further highlighted that providing educational materials to flood-affected students is a meaningful initiative that can help them return to their studies and continue their education despite the challenges caused by the disaster.
The students received the new school bags and guidebooks with visible excitement and happiness. Their cheerful smiles reflected the joy and encouragement brought by this thoughtful gesture.
