The fellowship could open new avenues for Bangladeshi researchers in agricultural innovation and scientific research.
The Indian Council of Agricultural Research (ICAR) has invited Bangladeshi students and researchers to apply for the Netaji Subhas–ICAR International Fellowship (NS-ICAR-IFs) for doctoral studies in agriculture and allied sciences at Indian agricultural universities.
The fellowship provides an opportunity for qualified international candidates to pursue PhD-level research in identified priority areas within India’s agricultural education and research system. According to ICAR information, the programme offers 30 fellowships for a period of three years.
The initiative is particularly significant for Bangladesh, where agriculture, food security, climate-resilient farming, livestock, fisheries and related sciences remain important areas of research and development. The fellowship can provide Bangladeshi scholars with access to India’s agricultural universities and research facilities while also strengthening academic and research links between the two countries.
Applicants are required to meet the programme’s eligibility requirements, including the relevant academic qualifications in agriculture and allied sciences. The fellowship is intended for doctoral study in the priority research areas identified by ICAR.
Bangladeshi applicants have been given until September 25, 2026, to submit their applications, according to the current announcement.
