India announces specialised ITEC courses for Bangladeshi professionals

Dhaka, Sept 9: The Government of India has announced a series of specialised training programmes under the Indian Technical and Economic Cooperation (ITEC) programme, offering professional development opportunities in areas ranging from leadership and artificial intelligence to tourism, banking, agriculture, textiles and forest management.

The High Commission of India in Dhaka announced the courses through a press release posted on its official Facebook page on Wednesday. The programmes will be held at various reputed institutions across India between August 2026 and February 2027.

Among the programmes, the Indian Institute of Handloom Technology in Varanasi will conduct a course on Heritage and Indigenous Textiles from August 31 to September 11. The Swami Vivekananda Yoga Anusandhana Samsthana in Bengaluru will offer several specialised training programmes for yoga trainers during August-September, October and November-December.

The Indian Institute of Management (IIM), Bodh Gaya, will organise Leadership in a VUCA World from September 14 to 18, while the Goa Institute of Management will conduct a programme on Tourism Development, Management and Regulation from September 29 to October 12.

Other programmes will focus on forest-dweller development, sustainable agribusiness, fortified rice supply-chain management, artificial intelligence and leadership, and financial-sector management.

Notably, IIM Kozhikode will offer “Who am I in the Age of AI – Leadership in the Cognitive Revolution” from December 14 to 18. The National Institute of Bank Management in Pune will organise programmes on asset-liability management and inclusive banking and finance in January and February 2027.

The High Commission said suitable candidates can apply online through the ITEC portal.
