ETS Hosts TOEFL Experience Day in Dhaka for Bangladesh’s English-Language Trainer Community

Focused two-hour programme provided trainers and counsellors with technical insights, official preparation resources and practical guidance on the enhanced TOEFL iBT test
ETS, a global education and talent solutions organisation and the creator of the TOEFL iBT test, recently hosted a TOEFL Experience Day at Amari Dhaka. Marking ETS’s first official in-person TOEFL Experience Day in Bangladesh, the programme brought together more than 100 participants, including English-language trainers, TOEFL preparation professionals, counsellors, educators and channel partners.
Led by ETS experts and senior leaders from its South Asia team, the structured training introduced participants to the four strategic pillars of TOEFL: Fair, Agile, Smart and Tailored (FAST). The programme also provided focused guidance on the four skills assessed by the TOEFL iBT test: Reading, Writing, Speaking and Listening. The sessions enabled participants to better understand the enhanced test format, delivery and assessment approach, clarify test-related questions and align their preparation practices more closely with the test.
Participants received official TOEFL preparation and classroom-support resources, including the TOEFL Overview Booklet, lesson plans, a study planner, access to TOEFL Practice Online and the pocket edition of the TOEFL Guide. These resources were designed to help trainers and counsellors translate the programme’s technical insights into structured preparation support for test takers. 
Bangladesh remains a high-potential outbound education market, supported by sustained interest in international higher education and growing demand for English-language proficiency certification. ETS currently has five authorised TOEFL test centres in Dhaka and one in Chattogram and is exploring the addition of a centre in Sylhet. The TOEFL iBT Home Edition further extends access for eligible test takers beyond major cities, while ETS works with more than 200 channel partners in Bangladesh to build awareness through student sessions, seminars and local engagement.
