Maldives seeks greater tourism promotion in Bangladesh through BTTF-2026

Maldives High Commissioner to Bangladesh Shiuneen Rasheed met Mohamed Hanif, president of the Tour Operators Association of Bangladesh (TOAB), and members of its board of directors at the High Commission in Dhaka to discuss opportunities for strengthening tourism cooperation.

The discussions focused on the upcoming 14th Bangladesh Travel & Tourism Fair (BTTF-2026), scheduled to be held in Dhaka from October 29 to 31, according to the High Commission.

The meeting also covered opportunities for the development and promotion of the tourism sector and the potential of BTTF-2026 as a platform to further promote the Maldives among Bangladeshi travellers.

The Maldives High Commission and TOAB discussed ways to use the tourism fair to increase visibility of the Maldives as a travel destination in Bangladesh.

The meeting comes as tourism remains an important area of people-to-people and economic engagement between Bangladesh and the Maldives, with both sides exploring opportunities to expand tourism-related cooperation.
