Pakistan Higher Education Commission welcomes Bangladeshi students

DHAKA, Sept 26, 2026 — Pakistan’s Higher Education Commission (HEC) has welcomed the second group of 21 Bangladeshi students who arrived in Pakistan under the Allama Muhammad Iqbal Scholarships as part of the ongoing Pakistan-Bangladesh Knowledge Corridor.

The students, who are scholarship awardees under the second phase of the programme, will pursue undergraduate, master’s and PhD programmes at leading Pakistani universities.

The latest group follows the arrival of the first group of 42 students under the second phase of the scholarship programme.

Pakistan High Commissioner to Bangladesh Imran Haider saw off the students at Dhaka airport before their departure for Pakistan.

Upon their arrival at Islamabad International Airport, the students were received by representatives of HEC Pakistan along with officials from leading Pakistani universities.

The students expressed enthusiasm about pursuing higher education in Pakistan and described the scholarship programme as a valuable opportunity to advance their academic aspirations.

They also thanked the government and people of Pakistan for providing them with the fully funded opportunity to pursue quality higher education.

HEC Pakistan wished the students success in their academic journey and a rewarding and memorable stay in Pakistan.

The scholarship programme is part of the Pakistan-Bangladesh Knowledge Corridor, which aims to strengthen educational exchanges and academic links between the two countries.
