United States Secretary of State Marco Rubio has congratulated Pakistan on its Independence Day, “deeply” appreciating Islamabad’s engagement on counterterrorism and trade.
It has also extended warm congratulations to the people of Pakistan on the occasion of the country’s 79th Independence Day, reaffirming the longstanding partnership and people-to-people bonds between the two nations.
In a statement issued on August 13, U.S. Secretary of State Marco Rubio said Washington and Islamabad were working together across a range of areas, including regional mediation, critical minerals, energy, counterterrorism, cultural heritage, trade and investment.
“On behalf of the United States of America, I extend warm congratulations to the people of Pakistan on their Independence Day,” Rubio said.
The Secretary of State highlighted the practical dimensions of U.S.-Pakistan cooperation, saying the two countries were seeking to turn shared potential into progress and deliver tangible results for both Americans and Pakistanis.
