July Museum Launches Special Services for Visitors with Special Needs

Dhaka (October 27, 2026): To make visiting the July Museum easier and more comfortable for visitors with special needs, the museum authority has launched a special service. From now on, any physically challenged or special-needs visitor coming to the museum will be able to use wheelchairs free of charge to facilitate their movement.

This service has been operational since Tuesday morning.

Under this new arrangement, visitors will be able to avail of the wheelchair service right from the entrance of the museum. If a visitor is accompanied by family members or relatives, they can operate the wheelchair themselves to tour the entire museum. On the other hand, if a visitor with special needs comes alone, trained volunteers of the museum will be constantly dedicated to guiding them through the museum and providing necessary assistance.

Special attention has been paid to ensure that the museum's infrastructure and exhibition halls are completely barrier-free and smooth for wheelchair users.

Regarding this initiative, the Director General of the July Museum, Ehasan Mahamud, said, ‘The July Museum is a place of memory and sentiment for every citizen of this country. With the objective of ensuring that no physical limitation becomes a barrier to learning history and visiting the museum, we have added this special service. Alongside family members, our volunteers will be ready so that any visitor can explore the entire museum without any hassle. We want to build the July Museum as a completely inclusive and open institution for all.’

While constructing the museum's infrastructure, wheelchair-friendly pathways were designed keeping visitors with special needs in mind. Physically challenged visitors or their families can instantly avail of this service simply by contacting the main gate of the museum.
