Dhaka ceremony highlights Pakistan’s unity, resilience and commitment to regional peace.
The Pakistan High Commission in Dhaka commemorated the first anniversary of Maarka-e-Haq on Saturday, paying tribute to Pakistan’s Armed Forces and reaffirming support for Kashmir’s right to self-determination.
The event was organised on the embassy office premises where academics, journalists and members of the Pakistani community, including students, attended.
High Commissioner of Pakistan Imran Haider paid rich tributes to Pakistan’s heroic Armed Forces and the resilient people of Pakistan who stood united against the unprovoked Indian aggression against the motherland.
“Pakistan remains committed to regional peace while fully capable of defending its sovereignty,” High Commissioner Imran Haider said.
Other speakers including Pakistani students and members of the Pakistani community also paid glowing tributes to the civilian and military leadership, Armed Forces of Pakistan and the entire nation for standing resolute and united during Marka-e-Haq.
A pictorial exhibition showcasing important moments of Marka-e-Haq was organized at the Chancery, while a special documentary highlighting the professionalism and bravery of Pakistan’s Armed Forces was also screened for the participants.
The ceremony concluded with prayers for peace, progress and prosperity of Pakistan.
Messages of President of Pakistan, Prime Minister, Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister, Chief of Army Staff and Chief of Defence Forces were read out on the occasion paying rich tributes to the courage, sacrifices and unwavering resolve of the Armed Forces and people of Pakistan during Marka-e-Haq.
The leadership in their messages assured the nation that Pakistan’s Armed Forces are fully cognizant and completely capable of meeting future challenges and threats.
The messages also reiterated Pakistan’s principled support for the right to self-determination of the Kashmiri brothers and sisters and emphasized that without a just resolution of the Jammu and Kashmir dispute, lasting peace in South Asia would remain an elusive dream.
Emphasizing Pakistan’s responsible role in the region and beyond, the messages underscored that Pakistan not only knows how to defend itself but has also emerged as a guarantor of global peace and stability.
Homage was paid to the sacrifices of the Shuhada, while renewing the national pledge to remain united and steadfast in defence of Pakistan.
The leadership reiterated Pakistan’s unwavering commitment to rooting out terrorism and underscored that Pakistan would not allow territory of any country to be used against Pakistan.
Maarka-e-Haq, observed annually in Pakistan, commemorates national unity and resilience during periods of regional conflict and security challenges.
