Aims to encourage travel literature and tourism promotion
The Bangladesh Travel Writers Association honored six distinguished travel writers, photographers, designers and digital creators for their outstanding contribution to Bangladesh’s tourism and travel literature sector at the “Creative Excellence in Travel Award 2025” ceremony in Dhaka on Saturday.
The award ceremony was held at the Bishwa Sahitya Kendra auditorium in Banglamotor, Dhaka, on Saturday night.
The event was organized in association with May Fair, Seven Days Note, and Four Wheels.

In a video message from the United States, the President of the organization, Ashrafuzzaman Ujjal, said, “Generally, we tend to recognize talented individuals after their death. But we believe that a person’s work should be appreciated during their lifetime.”
Mohiuddin Helal, Editor of Parjatan Bichitra and Director of the Bangladesh Tourism Corporation, called for stronger collaboration between the government and the private sector to advance tourism literature. He observed that despite global progress, Bangladesh continues to struggle with a lack of coordination in the sector.
President of the Consumers’ Rights Association AHM Shafiquzzaman and media personality K M Harun were present as special guests.
BTWA General Secretary Jahangir Alam Shovon delivered the welcome speech.
The program was hosted by Executive Members Fuad Bin Omar and Shakil Bin Mostak.
BTWA announced that the awards will continue to be presented every two years.
The initiative aims to encourage travel literature, tourism promotion and creative storytelling in Bangladesh.
